The 2008 Dodge Avenger is a mid-sized sedan model offered in SE, SXT, R/T AWD and sporty R/T versions. The 2008 version is designed and produced based on the Sebring model. Power to the SE and SXT model comes from 2.4 liter DOHC I-4 engine that delivers 172 hp at 6000 rpm and torque of 165 lb ft at 4400 rpm, while the other models are equipped with 2.7 liter V6 engine that delivers 190 hp of power and torque of 190 lb ft. Also available is 3.5 liter SOHC V6 engine that delivers 235 hp at 6400 rpm and torque of 230 lb ft at 4000 rpm.
Fuel Economy
All the models except R/T are offered in front wheel drive, while it is offered in all wheel drive. The available transmissions include 4-speed automatic and 6-speed automatic. The mid-sized sedan model can achieve fuel economy of 21 and 30 mpg in the city streets and on the highway roads respectively.
