2008 Dodge Avenger Recalls
Manufacturing defects are commonly seen in many vehicles; fortunately, the manufacturers own up to few of these mistakes and get them solved free of cost.
Some of the 2008 Dodge Avenger recalls are explained below.
Recall Due to Defective Electrical System Wiring
Chrysler has recalled around 180963 units of 2008 Dodge Avenger vehicles.
The unused electrical connectors of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may get corroded and may short circuit leading to several problems like dead battery, engine no-start, remote start system, engine stalling, or an inoperative cruise control.
In case of engine stalling, it can lead to a crash without any prior warning. Dealers were notified by the manufacturers to seal the wires of TPMS. This recall started on April 15, 2008.
Recall Due to Problem in Engine Cooling System
In some of the Avenger vehicles integrated with 2.4L engines, there are chances that the engine coolant may get drawn into the motor connector of the radiator cooling fan at left. This may lead to a short circuit and cause a fire in the engine compartment. In this recall that started on November 19, 2007, dealers inspected the connector for any damage or contamination. They also installed a wiring harness overlay and replaced the fan motor if required.
These are the significant 2008 Dodge Avenger recalls.
